PDP supporters rejects the Edo State Election results.

The people's Democratic party(PDP) and it's supporters in Edo state rejected the results of Wednesday's elections. The supporters came in mass and staged a protest in front of the office of the independent National Electoral Commission today over the alleged claim that the All Progressive Congress (APC) rigged the election.
While displaying placards and other signs and symbols, the supporters claim that pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a PDP candidate was the winner amid reports that Godwin Obaseki of the All progressives Congress was in due position to win the election.

The results from 17 local governments shows that APC has 303,663 votes while PDP has 244,362 votes, with one local government's result still yet to be announced.  It is believed that the two weeks extension of the poll by the electoral body paved way for APC to manipulate the results. The Edo state PDP chairman, Dan Orbih claims the results were pre-determined and fabricated.

The chairman in his own words said " We are rejecting these results as they were announced by the INEC and we are coming out early enough to make this known". He continued " I wonder what the Incident form is for. Voters should not be made to suffer unduly for the inefficiency of card readers. The results are not true reflection of what happened in the field. The INEC only played a script written by the government of Edo", He said.

One of the candidates, Ize-Iyamu said " Contrary to claims that we brought 8,000 militants, it's clear that nothing like that happened. The delay in the announcement of the results by INEC has shown that the result was pre-determined and written. What is being announced is contrary to the turnout of Voters, even the National Chairman of the APC acknowledge this fact
But I tell you, when the official result is announced, it will be clear that the results does not match the turnout".
