A debate or a feud?
This wasn't any normal debate, it was personal for both sides. Though it might had started in a civilized manner with smiles and friendly handshakes, the end was rather puzzling. A record 100million people were expected to watch the first debate between Democrat Hillary Clitton and Republican Donald Trump.
As expected, the debate turned out to be a fiery one and it's quite difficult to say who won the first battle but polls may point at Hillary Clitton for her firm composure and strong punch lines which were on her fingertips at all time. Hillary Clitton brought to light Trump's business records and his refusal to release his tax returns.
" for 40 years, everyone running for president has released their tax returns. Maybe he doesn't want the American people to know he has paid nothing in federal income taxes", she said.
Mr Trump joked " That makes me smart". But Mrs Clitton replied by stating " that means zero for troops, zero for veterans, zero for health".
While things were still heating up, the moderator Lester Holt questioned Mr Trump's intentions for not disclosing his tax returns.

Mr Trump however stated that he was under a " routine audit" and would release the document once the audit was finished. He promised to release them if his opponent "Mrs Clitton" released 33,000 emails that were deleted during the 11 months investigation on her private email by th Fbi while she was still secretary of state. It was very unlikely that Mr Trump wouldn't bring up her private email issue that has been a torn on Mrs Clitton's campaign trails.
Mrs Clitton was apologetic to the audience and viewers by claiming that there were no excuses for the mistake and that she takes full responsibility.
She then turned her attention to the discrimination against young black and Hispanic Men which Mr Trump quickly responded saying he had "nothing" to say to black people who might have found it offensive.
Mrs Clitton responded by calling Mr Trump a "racist", hinting that he had refused to rent apartments to black people in the 1970s, decades before spreading a racist lie about Mr Obama.
It was clearly obvious that Mrs Clitton came prepared for the debate and almost at Every time had something to throw at her opponent. One of her punch line was about her "prepared she was".
" i think Donald criticized me for preparing for this debate, and yes i did. And you know what else i prepared for? I prepared to be president and i think that is a good thing". She concluded.
Mr Trump attacked her over why she had to change position on the controversial Trans-Pacific partnership trade deal and Mrs Clitton was clearly seen uncomfortable while defending her actions.
Mr Trump also had something to say about her "stamina" to be president. " i said she doesn't have the stamina and i don't believe she has the stamina, to be president of this country you need tremendous stamina".
Mrs Clitton quickly fired back " well, as soon as he travels to 112 countries and negotiates a peace deal, a ceasefire, a release of dissidents or even spends 11 hours testifying in front of a congressional Committee, he can talk to me about stamina"
It certainly didn't end there as she questioned his motives for praising Russian president " Vladmir Putin!. Her words " I was so shocked when Donald publicly invited Putin to hack Americans. This is just unacceptable. Donald is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief".
With three more debates to go, i'd say the battle is far from over and there is more to expect from them.
