One dies and several injured, as butchers clashed with cultists in Lagos.

Butchers popularly known as "eleran" clashed in a fierce fight with some suspected cultists over the death of one butcher, Adewale Fakunle, who was killed in Ajegunle area of Lagos.
Report says the butchers rallied up to avenge the demise of one of their own as they engaged in a fierce fight leaving many injured, with one dead at each side. The trouble started on Tuesday night, October 4, during which a butcher was killed by cultists who were looking for who to take out their frustrations on after losing to a rival group. The deceased butcher, who was returning from a party at 10pm, reportedly walked into the cultist who robbed and attacked him with cutlasses, leaving him for dead in a pool of his blood. He however, managed to get to his 14, Baale Aiyetoro home, from where he was rushed to the hospital, only to he confirmed dead.
According to an eyewitness who said " They collected his phone and money, beat him up to Coma leading to his death. The eleran boys confronted the Alayabiagba boys on why they killed their colleague. This resulted to a reprisal attack on Tuesday night during which one Alayabiagba boy was killed".
The eye witness continued, " The fight continued today ( Wednesday), with dangerous weapons freely used. They attacked anyone in sight. Hoodlums used the opportunity to rob innocent persons and also looted shops".
Expended bullets from the locally made weapons were seen littered, with bloodstains everywhere.
Despite assurances from the security operatives and its commander, Mohammed Nuru, an area "B" Apapa commander, traders and residents said they were still afraid of possible reprisals. Some of the traders refused to open even with the presence of the security operatives.
