Philippine leader Rodrigi Duterte has warned the US of a possible " realigning of foreign policy" that has been longstanding between the two countries. Mr Duterte claims the US has failed the philippines since the US refused to sell Millitary arms to the country in her fight against " drugs war" and threatened to buy from China and Russia, which he claimed have already agreed to sell.
The Philippine, once a colony of the United States, had a longstanding defence relationship with washignton, but Mr Duterte said he would review a defence pact signed in 2014 with the US that will see more US troops sent to the philippines. The deal allows the United States to set up storage facilities for maritime security, this in turn has helped to monitor the activities of China in the south China sea.
" instead of helping us, the first to hit was the State Department. So you can go to hell, Mr Obama, you can go to hell. Hell is already filled up, you can go to purgaltory".
" They(the US) just reprimand another president in front of the international community. This is what happens now, i will be reconfiguring my foreign policy"
" Eventually, i might in my time break up with America. Although, it may sound shit to you, it is my sacred duty to keep the integrity of this republic and the people healthy".
" If you don't want to sell arms, i will go to Russia. I sent the generals to Russia and Russia said ' don't worry, we have everything you need, we'll give it to you'. As for China, they said ' just come over and sign and everything will be delivered".
Mr Duterte's latest action may have the US sweating as her possible political enemies( China and Russia) may have the edge over them.
