Oil rich country, Saudi Arabia, has executed one of her Royal Prince Turki Bin Saud Al-Kabir on Tuesday after a court found him guity of shooting dead a fellow Saudi during a brawl three years ago.
Saudi Arabia is reportedly the third country with the most executions in the world with 128 executions carried out.
Prince Turki had pleaded guilty to shooting Adel Al-Mohaimeed after a brawl and the court following strict islamic law had to execute him. Members of Saudi Arabia's ruling family are only rarely known to have been executed with the last prominent case of a royal family member's execution dating back to 1975, when King Fasial was assassinated by his Nephew, Faisal Bin Musaid Al-Saud, who was later executed.
The method of execution carried out on Prince Turki is on a "need to know basis"[secret] probably because he is royal blood as most execution are carried out with a sword in public places.
All crimes punishable by death due to it's strict Islamic legal code includes murder, drug trafficking, armed robbery, rape and apostasy. A statement from a court official reads
"The government is keen to keep order, stabilise security and bring about justice through implementing the rules prescribed by Allah".
